She brings a variety of journalism, public relations and marketing experience to her job. She also volunteers for several organizations in the community. A native of Claiborne County, she loves the community and enjoys writing about it. Marisa is responsible for feature stories, breaking news and attending meetings as well as editing the content of the paper. Allen Earl - Staff Writer/Sports. Allen Earl is well known around the Tri-State area as a photographer - mainly sports. A correspondent for many years for the Claiborne Progress, he is happy to now be a full-time member of the Progress family. Allen is avid sportsman and loves photography and Corvettes. After graduating from Claiborne County High School, he graduated from Walters State Community College with an A.S. in Industrial Technologies and is a certified quality control technician. He is dedicated to the community and to showing the world our local student athletes. Allen and his wife Rose have three children: Eltred, Amy and Mara. "I'm thankful to God for everything," Allen said.
