The 9th annual Claiborne County Healthcare Foundation Golf Tournament was held Friday, September 25, 2009, at Woodlake Golf Course in Tazewell. Despite the rainy forecast, the tournament was very successful, with approximately $30,000 being raised for our local foundation. This year’s proceeds are earmarked towards the purchase of a digital mammography system at Claiborne County Hospital. Forty-six teams participated in the tournament this year, and the threat of rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of the participants. Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home, First Century Bank, Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Restoration Healthcare were the Championship sponsors of the event. Administrator Tim Brown stated, “We want to thank the community for continuing to support our Healthcare Foundation, and we appreciate everyone who participated in any way, whether by sponsoring a team, playing in the tournament, or donating a door prize or raffle item. Make plans now to play in next year’s tournament”.
