CLAIBORNE CO., Tenn. — The third suspect being sought in the weekend robbery of Sav-A-Lot in Middlesboro is now behind bars in a neighboring county.

The Middlesboro Police Department (MPD) reports that the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department has arrested the last of three suspects in the case. Early Wednesday morning, Claiborne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 22-year-old Allen Wayne Brock in Claiborne County. During the course of the arrest, deputies recovered money and a bank bag believed to be from the robbery.

On Monday, MPD officers arrested the first two suspects in the case, 43-year-old Deonna Green and 32-year-old Jason L. Barnett, both of Middlesboro. According to police, a manager of Sav-A-Lot was leaving the store with the night deposit on Sunday, when a white male approached her, seized the bank bag, and fled in a Dodge Caravan. An investigation led officers to Brock, a former employee of the store, and the other two suspects that are now in custody in Bell County.

Middlesboro Police released the identity and a description of the final suspect on Tuesday. Several tips were received by the MPD that helped lead authorities to Brock. The department would like to thank the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance with the case, members of the press and the general public for the tips that led to Brock’s arrest.

Brock is being held in the Claiborne County Jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky where he faces a charge of second-degree robbery.

An arrest is an accusation only. Those arrested are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
