She was a member of Butcher's Gap Missionary Baptist Church. She is the Daughter of the late Jake and Rachel Ayers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jack Hammack; daughter: Christine Hammack; sons: Fred and Danny Hammack; sister: Jeraldine Ayers; brother: Wheeler Ayers.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws: Mike Hammack of Harrogate, Donna Hammack of Middlesboro, Ky., James and Connie Hammack of Harrogate, Darrell and Lisa Hammack of Eugene, Or.; daughters and sons-in-laws: Patsy and Kelly Jay of Orinda, Ca., Kathy and Jerry Warf of Ewing, Va., Debbie Iparraguirre of Concord, Calif., Missy and Arlin Webb Jr. of Harrogate; grandchildren: Caleb, Wayne, Willy, Gabriel, Jonathan, Jason, Cecilia, Jeffrey, Rebecca, and Rachel; great grandchildren: Michael, Alex, Mia, and Leighton; sisters: Vina Hembree of Ewing, Va., Viola (Bug) Carmony; brother: Gillis (Bunie) Ayers.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 22 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sam Ayers and Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Music by True Gospel and Friends. Burial in the Arnolds Cemetery, Ewing Va.
