Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series rolls into Tazewell Speedway this Friday night

There will be fireworks in the air and on the high banks of Tazewell Speedway this Friday night July 4th as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presents the Toyota Knoxville 75 lap race paying $10,000 to win. Proudly boasting as the Nations’ Premier Dirt Late Model Sanctioning Organization the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2008 will sanction 44 events in 16 states with a Series record $2.9 million dollars paid out in event purses, Championship point fund and bonus money. Associates with Toyota Knoxville will be on hand with displays for the fans as well as prizes to be given away.

Drivers expected are current points leader Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN, 3 time series champion Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; along with series points contenders Bart Hartman, Justin Rattliff, Dan Schlieper, Scott James, Billy Drake, Terry Casey and Freddy Smith. Local favorites Scott Bloomquist, last years winner Jimmy Owens, Vic Hill, Anthony White, and Billy Ogle Jr. are just a handful of the Super Late Model standouts who will vying for the $10,000 first prize.

Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN currently holds the track qualifying record at Tazewell Speedway for Super Late Models at 11.103 seconds which equates to just under 107 miles per hour. American Race Tires South is putting up a $500 to any Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series driver that can break the qualifying record using American Race Tires.

Also in action this Friday night will be the West Chevrolet FASTRAK Crate Late Models, Modified Street, Pure Street and for the first time at Tazewell Speedway,the Front Wheel Drive Allstar Challenge paying $500 to win.

Pit gates will open at 2:00 p.m. with main grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. Grandstand admission is $25 with children 12 and under admitted free with paying adult. Pit passes are $35. Come early and bring a friend!

Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
