A two-vehicle accident involving an eighteen-wheeler sent two individuals to the Claiborne County Hospital. Michael L. Russell, Marion, Va., was driving a Wal-Mart freight truck in the southbound lane on US Highway 25E when he hit an oversize load escort truck in the rear. Gary K. Patterson, 55, Tazewell, and passenger Mary Hurst, 66, were transported to Claiborne County Hospital by Claiborne County EMS. Officers Eddie Hurly and Todd Estep from the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department and a Tennessee Highway Patrol unit responded to the scene.
