England chosen Grand Marshall, Wilder and Debusks named Honored Merchants

Sandy Wilder has been a beautician, owner, and operator of Shear Design Beauty Salon for 21 years. She has two daughters; Stacy Hager, and Jessica Hollin, and four grandchildren.

She lives in New Tazewell, and is an active member and player in softball. She also coaches for TNT Little League.

She thanks her many customers for past, present and future business and being chosen as an honored merchant.

The salon is located in New Tazewell at 101 Main Street. Hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

George and Elaine DeBusk, 20 year, owners and operators of DeBusk Jewelers, are in their new location in the old Claiborne Utilities building at 511 Main Street in New Tazewell.

The original name of the business was D & A Jewelers, located in the Cumberland Shopping Center. The business was a partnership with Claude Ausmus, and due to health reasons, the partnership was purchased solely by the DeBusks in 1996. In 2004, the business moved to their present location on Main Street.

Selling fine jewelry, diamonds, rings, chains, bracelets, charms, pendants, lighters, and also dealers for Pulsar and Speidel watches. They also take pride in offering in store repairs.

The DeBusks thank their many friends and customers they have made through the years, and would like everyone to come by and check out the store and visit with them.

The Claiborne County Merchants Association have chosen Fred England to be Grand Marshall of the 2008 Holiday Parade.

England, a lifetime resident and three decade businessman actually began in food services with the opening of the Sandwich Shop on Main Street in New Tazewell in the 1980’s. A year later, England opened the Mesquite Steakhouse, also in New Tazewell. The two successful business ventures led to what would basically be the foundation of England’s career in food services and preparation. Within two years of opening the steakhouse, he was providing vending and cafeteria services to England/Corsair, Volunteer Knitting, Giles, and other manufacturing plants within the Claiborne County area. While serving thee factories decades later, England is currently overseeing the deli at the newly opened Old Town Market. England is thrilled to have been selected to serve as Grand Marshall of this holiday parade and is honored “to represent both the Merchants Association and the Claiborne County business community”.

England lives in New Tazewell with his wife and business partner of sixteen years, Tammy Bowen England. He is the son of Wayne England and Barbara Marks.

While Fred’s previous hobbies and endeavors have included dirt bike and legend car racing, he has settled down a bit and has added deep sea fishing and tournament fishing to his repertoire. Even though he especially enjoys his fishing, he is firmly planted in his dedication and desire to continue serving the appetites of the Claiborne County community.
