The two-loss Railsplitter men took the court and honored their senior members Kierre Jordan, Sheldon Oliver and D’Mario Curry. The Railsplitters were led to a 65-47 victory by Desmond Johnson’s double-double consisting of 18-points and 12 rebounds. Curry scored 15 with Cameron Carden and Brandon Armstrong also scoring in double figures with 13 and 10 respectively. It was LMU’s 24th win of the season against the two losses. LMU finished conference play with a 16-2 record and will now set its sights on the South Atlantic Conference tournament. The number one-seeded Railsplitters will play the eighth-seeded Carson Newman Eagles in their third rivalry game of the season on Wednesday, March 2, at 7:00 pm.
Railsplitter fans need to come out and support their local team as they begin to battle for the SAC tournament championship. With the tournament foremost on their minds the Railsplitters did take a minute to celebrate the SAC regular season championships by cutting the net down at Tex Turner Arena but those nets are not the ones that this team would prefer to cut down as they want so passionately to cut the nets down in Hickory, North Carolina.
