The National Weather Service held a briefing Wednesday morning with local counties to alert them of severe weather that will be moving through the area.

Most all of East Tennessee including Claiborne County were under a tornado watch until 2:00 PM.

It was reported that a long track of cells moved through the south.

The last phase of the severe weather containing dangerous conditions will occur between the hours of 5:00 to 10:00 PM.

A wind advisory will remain in effect until 8:00 PM, which will bring damaging winds, heavy downpours, some local flooding and possible hail.

The system will be monitored throughout the night with the Claiborne County Emergency Operation Center opening at a Level 4.

If you have damage to report please call 423-626-9617. If you have an emergency to report, contact 911 immediately.
