For five years now the Claiborne County Farm Bureau and Claiborne County Soil Conservation District have put on the Farm Day program for area students.

Farm Day allows Alpha, pre-school and fifth graders the opportunity to learn about all aspects of local farming and its uses in today’s community. It features educational booths about grains, cattle, sheep, chickens, goats, farm equipment, dairy and much more.During the event students can race pedal tractors, enjoy a wagon ride and interact with a barn full of critters.

There are many volunteers who donate their time and resources to make this an overwhelming annual success. Thanks goes out to each and every single one including: CHS students, FFA, Key Club, National Honor Society, Ag Mechanics, Ag in the Classroom, The United Way, Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Soil Conservation Board of Directors, Co-Op, TN Foundation for Ag in the Classroom board of directors, UT Ag Extension, TN Forestry Department, Farm Service Agency, Food City, Citizens Bank, Claiborne County Commission, Home Federal Bank, and numerous other sponsors and volunteers.
