Kentucky State Police troopers captured one of the prisoners who escaped from the Bell County Forestry Camp earlier in the week.

Post 10 reported that Sammy L. Chilton is back in custody. He was apprehended by Trooper Jason Joseph at a residence in Wallins Creek.

More troopers and several deputies with the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office are combing the mountains at Wallins Creek in search of Timothy D. Bowling, who is still on the run. Constable Robert Haywood is also assisting.

Bowling, 37, was serving a seven-year sentence for trafficking, theft and receiving stolen property in Harlan County. He would have been eligible for parole in January. He is a white male, 6-feet tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police at Post 10 in Harlan a 606-573-3131.
