Join Wilderness Road State Park on Saturday, July 21 at 5 pm and learn how to manage Virginia’s white tailed deer. Understanding what kind of food plots to set out can be beneficial for the deer’s development, growth and survivability, especially during the fall and winter months. The program is free, normal parking rates apply.
It is important to have an understanding of what types of salt blocks and mineral licks to put out because different minerals will provide for various areas such as antler growth or just the overall health of the deer.
In order to maintain a healthy deer population, it is vital to understand Virginia’s hunting rules and regulations. For example, why do we have a doe hunt day? What types of hunting are allowed? There are many things to take into consideration when managing white tailed deer. This program will benefit those who like to watch deer and bring wildlife into their yard as well as those who want to maintain a healthy population of deer to hunt from during the fall and winter months.
