There will be a new high school option available for Claiborne County students this fall.

Heritage Christian Academy in New Tazewell is expanding to include ninth grade for the 2012-13 school year. The classes will be taught by video or video streaming by master teachers from the A-Beka Academy in Pennsecola, Florida.

“This is the type program that Gateway Christian School in Middlesboro has used with great success for the past four years,” said Gail Leonard, headmaster for the school. “The A-Beka Academy is fully accredited and provides master teachers in each ninth grade subject.”

In addition to the regular ninth grade academic subjects, Bible class is taught also.

“For the past seven years Heritage Academy has been dedicated to offering the children of Claiborne County and the surrounding counties an excellent education and living up to our motto of ‘Putting God First in Education’,” Leonard said. “The school has been richly blessed through the dedication of our teachers, staff, administration, parents and board members.”

Great things are happening at Heritage Academy and the addition of ninth grade is just one of many, she said.

“When you truly put God first in all you do, great things happen and continue to happen,” she said.

The Academy is now accepting applications for ninth grade. Class size will be limited so if you are interested in learning more about how you can enroll your son or daughter, contact the school right away. Heritage is also accepting applications for the other classes as well. For more information call 423-526-2807 or contact the headmaster, Gail Leonard, at 423-441-0331.
