Caught in the Net: Several arrested as part of "Operation Dragnet"

On Wednesday Feb. 18, 2009 the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, the 8th Judicial Drug Task Force, the City Police Department of Tazewell and New Tazewell worked together locating and serving Judicial Warrants in an effort to arrest and incarcerate those who have violated the conditions of probation from the Criminal Court, Claiborne County.

Criminal Court Judge, Shane Sexton issued in excess of 40 criminal warrants for these violators.

Sheriff Ray stated “This is a continuing effort to protect our citizens and keep them safer from the drug dealers and drug users who traffic drugs into our schools and communities of Claiborne County. Each of these defendants will be arraigned before Judge Sexton and explain why very little or no effort at all, has been made to comply with their previous conditions of their guilty pleas.”

The Assistant District General, Jared Effler and his staff were available and assisted in “Operation Dragnet” providing search warrants if necessary and recommended to the Criminal Court as to the status of each defendant who has not complied with their Criminal Court convictions.

The following individuals were arrested on Wednesday Feb. 18 on the following charges.

Jackie Moore, 53, New Tazewell was arrested on the charge of Possession of Schedule II for Resale or Delivery.

James Coleman, 60, Harrogate was arrested on the charge of Possession of Schedule IV.

Billy Joe Bray, 58, New Tazewell was arrested on the charges of Driving on Suspended, Registration Law, Seatbelt Violation, Financial Responsibility, and Possession of Schedule II Drugs for Resale or Delivery.

Curtis Minton, 25, New Tazewell was arrested on the Charge of Violation of Probation.

James Parkey, 47, Tazewell was arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Emily Gulley, 18, New Tazewell was arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Christopher Bishop, 35, Tazewell was arrested on the charges of Violation of Probation, Driving on Suspended, Financial Responsibility, Registration Law Seat Belt Violation, and Possession of Schedule II Drugs for Resale or Delivery

Kathy Patton, 33, New Tazewell arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Angela Asher, 43, Tazewell arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Dustin Miracle, 23, Speedwell arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Steven Leabow, 25, New Tazewell arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Billy J. Burns, 41, Tazewell arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.

Randy Gulley, 45, Tazewell arrested on the charge of Violation of Probation.
