Pete was a member of Carr’s Branch Missionary Baptist Church and a member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James A. and Ethial Alice Harness; brothers, William (Bill), Phillip and Ben Harness; sisters, Laney Stooksberry and Ester Harness.
He is survived by his wife just days prior of 48 years, Margaret A. Harness; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Hazel Harness; granddaughter, Angela and fiancé, Michael; step-grandchildren, Alisha Wolz and Eugene West; brothers, Jerry, Joe, John and Mike, and sister, Pansy and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Coffey Funeral home with Masonic and funeral service to follow, with Rev. Bud Dykes officiating. Music provided by Richard and Linda Nicely. Graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Yoakum Cemetery. Pallbearers, Lodge members.
