Monday, March 16th- Originally scheduled to begin play on Friday the 13th LMU and Brevard College finally got to take the field to play two out of the three games originally scheduled. In game one the wet field became an obstacle for both teams but the Tornados were able to handle the wet conditions better than the home Railsplitter team. Both teams played the field conditions as well as each other equally for the most part until inning number four. Brevard would find its offense and put up all 7 runs in the inning and LMU simply did not counter. LMU pitcher Josh Strawn lost his first game of the season while allowing 9 hits and a walk but striking out 7. The Tornados grabbed their first ever win in SAC play. LMU got a little revenge in game two by outlasting the Tornados in a 9-5 contest. Tommy Casto blasted his first homer of 2009 in the bottom of the third that seemed to get the LMU bats on track. LMU hurler Sean Woolard got his second win of the season and recorded 6 strikeouts. The Railsplitters series split brought their record to 15-12 on the season and 4-7 in SAC play.
