Michael Steven Sweet age 64, of New Tazewell was born May 11, 1944 and passed away on April 21, 2009 at Claiborne County Hospital He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents: Herman and Catherine (Brown) Sweet, brothers: Larry and Norman Sweet and sister; Barbara.

Survived by brothers: Jerry Sweet of Palatka, FL, Jim and Betty Dean Sweet of New Tazewell, Bud and Joyce Sweet of Tazewell, Fred and Carolyn Sweet of New Tazewell, nephews: Gary and Christine Sweet, Jeremy and Tiffany Sweet, niece: Tammy and Tim Goan, great nephews: Jeremiah Sweet, Elijah Sweet, Jamey Sweet, Kameron Goan, Dakota Sweat, great nieces: Khristin Goan, Kaitlin Goan.

The family received friends on Thursday April 23; 2009 at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with Rev. Jason Berry and Rev. Michael Joe Gray officiating.

Interment in the Cox Cemetery.
