Mr. John Franklin McCreary was born May 16, 1927 and passed away on August 1, 2009 at Claiborne County Hospital. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, and as an Anaconda truck driver.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: W.B. and Mary Ellen McCreary, Six Sisters The Mother of his eight children: Hazel Hatfield McCreary, Stepson: Wayne Russell

He is survived by: Wife of 12 years: Lois Russell McCreary of Tazewell, TN Daughters: Dorothy Younger of Trenton, MI, Vivian Kerns of Columbia, TN, Brenda McPearson and husband Jim of Melvindale, MI, Helen Bortz and husband Tim of Columbia, TN, Linda Demmick of Melvindale, MI, Sons: Roger McCreary and wife Rosie of LaSalle, MI, Michael McCreary and wife Stacy of Melvindale, MI, Wayne McCreary of Trenton, MI, Step-son: Dale Russell and wife Carol of Dundee, MI, Sister: Violet Bean of Tazewell, TN

A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren

The family received friends Monday August 3, 2009 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at Claiborne Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 8 PM in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Steve Moyers and Reverend Tommy Louthan Sr. officiating. Music was provided by the Goins Chapel Choir. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday August 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Yoakum Cemetery in Speedwell.
