A local business owner was recently arrested on a drug charge while at his place of business.
Friday, December 18, the Eighth Judicial Drug Task Force took Walton Lealan Jones into custody at the Oasis in Harrogate.
Jones, owner of the Oasis, was arrested on a Capias for the Sale or Delivery of Schedule II narcotics.
Officers with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office transported Jones to the Claiborne County Jail.
He was later released on a $10,000 bond and will appear in criminal court on January 19.
In addition to the Eighth Judicial Drug Task Force the case is also being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. More information will be reported as it becomes available.
