He was a member of New Tazewell United Methodist Church. He was an Electrician & Truck Driver. He was preceded in death by his parents John L. Buis Sr, & Maude Gibson Buis; sister Dr. Ann Buis.

The family received friends Saturday January 2, 2010 at the New Tazewell United Methodist church from 5-7pm with the funeral to follow at 7:00pm.
Burial will be Sunday January3, 2010 at 3:00pm in the Irish cemetery.
