The Claiborne County Health Council is sponsoring a BIGGEST LOSER contest January 25th – May 3rd at Heritage Christian Academy in New Tazewell. The kick-off for this program will be January 25th with initial weigh in and registration, beginning at 5:00. The Biggest Loser program is open to anyone 18 years or older who would like to participate (youth younger than 18 must have notarized parental permission). Each Monday we will have a weigh-in, mandatory educational session and give out awards to the biggest loser from the prior week. It is recommended that each participant have a physical and/or receive permission from their physician prior to beginning this program. Winners will be determined by percentage of body weight lost. Weekly prizes will be given to the biggest loser of the week, and an overall cash prizes will be given to the biggest losers. A $20.00 registration fee will be collected from each participant; this includes a biggest loser T-shirt. For more information and to pre-register, call 626-3742.
