The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office made history Monday, April 19 when they teamed up with surrounding agencies for Operation Cooperation, or “CO-OP.”

Several agencies set out early Monday morning for what is being reported as the largest drug round up ever in the East Tennessee area. The round up is the direct result of ongoing investigations that have occurred over the past four years.

Approximately 114 people have been indicted on drug related sales or trafficking of illegal narcotics. Three of the drug buys that took place have occurred near local school systems in Claiborne County.

The charges range from the sale of crack-cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms, methamphetamine but most are various prescription drugs that include Hydrocodone, Roxicodone, Oxycodone, Valium, Xanax and Suboxone.

Many of the drugs were coming into Tennessee from Florida — authorities said prescriptions written in Tennessee were being filled in Florida.

The Eighth Judicial Drug Task Force assisted in the investigations. Other agencies that have assisted in the operation are the Tazewell Police Department, New Tazewell Police Department, the Inspector Generals Office, The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, Union County Sheriff’s Office, TN Meth Task Force, TN Firearms and the District Attorney’s Office.

Community support and tips continue to put wanted suspects behind bars and Sheriff David Ray and Captain David Honeycutt encourage to public to continue calling in with concerns and tips.

They extend a thank you to the community for your concerns and tips that have helped in the arrests of several wanted people in the area.

“We’re working together as a community,” said Sheriff David Ray, “I want the citizens of the tri-state area to continue to help us in locating people who have warrants so we can get them off the streets.”

The following is a list of people who have Failure to Appear Warrants issued on them out of the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office:
