Rev. Tony Douglas Baker age 70 of Tazewell, TN was born January 16, 1940 and went to be with the Lord early Sunday Morning April 25, 2010 at the Claiborne County Hospital. He was saved at an early age at the Liberty Baptist Church and announced his calling to preach in 1974. He pastored Goins Chapel Baptist Church, Little Valley Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Lone Holly Baptist Church, Riverview Baptist Church, Blairs Creek Baptist Church and attended local churches every chance he got. He was a Faithful member of Blairs Creek Baptist Church until death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Rachel Baker; Son, George Douglas Baker; Brother, Ben Baker, Sister-in-law, Kathy Baker; Grandparents, Rev. Claude & Buna Surber. He was retired from the Tazewell-New Tazewell Post Office.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Glenna Baker, Daughter & Son-in-law: Susan & Terry McDaniel, Son & Daughter-in-law: Doug and Jeananne Baker, Grandchildren: Bethany McDaniel, Ben Baker, Clay Baker, Austin McDaniel, Bryce, McDaniel, Isaac Baker, Gideon Baker, Brother: Jerry Baker and wife Diane, Mother-in-Law: Juanita McDowell all of Tazewell, TN, Brothers-in-law: Jim and wife Doris McDowell, George & wife Statia McDowell, Bill & wife Jane McDowell, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 9 P.M. Tuesday night April 27, 2010 at the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Wednesday April 28, 2010 at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Irish Memorial Garden.

Singers: DeWayne Holt, Owen Upton and Allen Holt
