Just a few weeks after investigators busted

a large burglary ring in Claiborne

County, they bust a second one last week.

Detectives Bobby Morelock and Anthony

Veillon were investigating multiple burglaries

that had been occurring on the south

side of the county.

On Wednesday, August 11 they made a

traffic stop on two men who were believed to

be suspects in several of those burglaries.

At the time of the traffic stop, the passenger,

who has been identified as David

Johnson, fled from the vehicle on foot.

The driver, John Buis was arrested during

the stop on warrants and during search of

the vehicle, the detectives were able to

locate stolen property from a burglary that

had just occurred but had not been reported.

Following the traffic stop and arrest, several

leads began to come in that the vehicle

description and suspect description had

been seen at several other locations.

Over the next few days, more than seven

burglaries had been tied in with Buis and

Johnson with property totaling over

$20,000 from all victims.

Currently, property is being located that

will be returned to victims.

Buis was charged with Theft of Property

Over $10,000, Aggravated Burglary and

Vandalism Over $500.

David Johnson is still on the run and is

wanted for charges that were already existing

against him along with Theft of Property

Over $10,000, Aggravated Burglary and

Vandalism Over $500.

The vehicle that the suspects were driving

could be linked to ongoing investigations, so

if anyone has any information or witnessed

a small white four-door vehicle acting suspicious

in your neighborhood, contact

Well i see the detective lied to my brother. There was no apology in this weeks paper like he said there would. If it was one of their family members though you better believe their would have been an apology on the front page. They should know that printing the wrong picture is defemation of character.

Its a shame that they think its funny how the wrong David was put in the paper. What they dont stop and think about is all the humiliation that my brother has endured because of this. And the police think an apology in the paper is supposed to fix it all.

yeah the sad part of it is that his whole family knows where he is an wont tell anyone. they think that it is funny that they have the wrong person but it really isnt. His mother was pulled over with him in the car an he gave them another name an believed him.claiborne co. has the worst police dept ever. He has been in and out of jail so many times they have to know wht he looks like by now,or im sure they have a pic of him from the last time he went in.

Thanks unknownplayer! This has been a horrible ordeal for my brother. Everywhere he goes people look at him and think he's the one who committed these crimes. The David they are looking for is David A. Johnson. The one in the paper is David L. Johnson.
