TAZEWELL — Patricia Lynn Brooks, age 76, of Tazewell, TN was born on October 17, 1940 and passed away on August 29, 2017 at Claiborne Medical Center. Patricia was saved at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was married to her sweetheart, Jerry Rea, for 54 years.

Patricia was a registered nurse and employed by the Tennessee Department of Health in Knoxville, TN. She was a member of the Claiborne County Historical Society and the Dogwood Homemakers Club. Patricia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and soon to be great-grandmother.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Rea Brooks; parents, Edward William and Stacy Maude (Buchanan) Collins; infant brother, Larry David Collins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil Hyatt and Dessie Myrtle (Duncan) Brooks.

Patricia is survived by her Children: Jerry Lynn & Christina (Wallace) Brooks, Jill Lorraine Brooks, Joseph Lorne Brooks and special friend Drena Lewis. Grandchildren: Emily Grace Brooks (Garrett) Hinton, Hyatt Neal Brooks. Soon to be great-grandchild: Hannah Grace Hinton. Sister-in-law: Barbara Ann (Earl) Ridings. Niece: Tracy Lynn (Corey) Milner. Nephew: Todd Alan (Jill) Ridings. And other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held Friday, September 1, 2017 with visitation from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and funeral service followed at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service was held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Joseph Brooks Cemetery located on the family farm in the Cave Springs Community of Tazewell, TN. Minister: Rev. George Walker. Music Station Creek.
