The Claiborne High School baseball team is quietly putting together a noteworthy season. They are competitive in every game, including the ones where they play up against teams from another district; however, the Bulldogs battled South Greene April 2 and were expected to win this one handily.

They got off on the right foot and scored early on a Hadyn Hollin triple. Hollin had three RBI in one swing of the bat.

Elijah Beason then provided a spark that got the Bulldogs rolling even more. Ryley Hager drew a base on balls and then Gage Callebs doubled and plated two runs. They used a bases loaded situation to move ahead after three innings 10-3.

The Rebels would not be denied at the plate as they got on track and scored five runs making the score 10-6 after five and a half innings.

The Bulldogs coaches pulled the team together and asked them for six runs in their half of the fifth inning and they responded. Callebs, Jake Wilson, Hollin and a clutch hit by Wesley Brooks that proved to be a walk off single gave the Bulldogs the win by run rule at 17-6. Wilson went the distance on the mound and looked good throughout.
