In observance of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, CEASE Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Inc. invites the public to Take a Stand with them against domestic violence on Oct. 25.
CEASE will Take a Stand on the steps of the Claiborne County Courthouse at noon. There will be light refreshments and door prizes at the CEASE office next door immediately following.
For more than 35 years CEASE Inc. has been taking a stand against domestic and sexual violence by providing an array of supportive services to victims and their families in six East Tennessee counties. These services started in 1981 with a 24-hour crisis hotline and has expanded over the years to include two emergency shelters, counseling, transportation, education, legal and systems advocacy and awareness.
You can also Take a Stand with CEASE by sharing a photo online of yourself taking a stand. Share the photo to CEASE’s Facebook or Twitter page with the hashtag #takeastand17. Take a stand alone, with friends or even on your head. Be creative and share how you are taking a stand and why.
