A Celebration of Life ceremony was recently held at Claiborne Medical Center to raise awareness of breast cancer. Here, Sharon Dixon hangs ornaments to commemorate her survival as well as her loved ones’. Anyone in attendance was invited to write on an ornament and place it on the tree. Patti Ketterman, chief administrative officer, and Karen Woten, imaging manager, talked about the importance of early detection to ensure higher survival rates. The Breast Cancer Center at CMC has state-of-the-art equipment, they said, and extended hours are available on certain dates during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
